📈 What we've shipped since you last saw us

We've shipped a new release almost every few weeks, and it's added up:

• 📱 Android & iOS app. VoiceDash now runs on Windows, Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel), Android, and iPhone. One account, unlimited devices.

• 🛡️ Enterprise-grade privacy. We signed a Business Associate Agreement with OpenAI, enabled Zero Data Retention, and your data is never used to train models.

• 🎙️ Command Mode. Say "Hey VoiceDash" and control the app hands-free.

• 🧠 Context-aware formatting. VoiceDash now detects which app you're in and adapts your text: tighter for Slack, structured for email, clean for docs and code.

• 🔁 Never lose a take. Failed transcriptions can be retried without re-recording. Microphone switching, including Bluetooth and USB, is smarter, and recordings start instantly with no clipped first words.

• 🌍 Better multilingual accuracy. We added dedicated Arabic speech recognition, automatic spoken-language detection, and more regional English and Portuguese variants.

• ⚡ Faster, more reliable transcription on every platform.

This has been your most requested feature by far, and it's live today.

VoiceDash now records, transcribes, and summarizes your meetings on any platform: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or anything else. It works on both Windows and Mac, not just one of them.

We're excited to announce the release of VoiceDash Desktop v1.0.17!

This update introduces a powerful new hands-free workflow and includes several reliability improvements to make your dictation experience even smoother.

What's New in v1.0.17

🎙 Command Mode on Desktop

You can now enable Command Mode in Settings and control VoiceDash using your voice.

How it works:

- Enable Command Mode in Settings

- Set your preferred wake phrase (default: "Hey VoiceDash")

- Speak your wake phrase, then issue a command or start dictating

Your custom wake phrase is stored on your VoiceDash profile and will automatically sync when you log in on another device.

Improvements

✅ Recording & Upload Reliability Enhancements

We've made several improvements to reduce failed recordings, incomplete transcriptions, and upload-related issues, resulting in a more reliable dictation experience overall.

Important Notes

- Desktop v1.0.17 is required to access the new Command Mode interface and settings.

- Older desktop versions (v1.0.15 and newer) will continue to work normally for standard dictation.

- We recommend updating to v1.0.17 to take advantage of the latest features and improvements.

Since we launched on AppSumo, your feedback has been incredible. Many of you—especially those in healthcare, law, and enterprise—have asked for deeper data protections.

Today, I’m excited to share that we’ve taken a massive step forward. VoiceDash (Jumpstart Ventures FZE) has officially signed a formal Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with OpenAI.

This isn't just a win for medical users; it’s a security upgrade that benefits every Sumo-ling on our platform. Here is the breakdown:

🛡️ Zero Data Retention (ZDR) for All Users

We have provisioned our account for Zero Data Retention . This means that for our Eligible Services, your inputs and outputs are processed but not stored long-term by OpenAI. Your data belongs to you—period.

🚫 No Training on Your Data

Under this agreement, your proprietary information and conversations are never used to train OpenAI’s future models. Your "secret sauce" and private clinical or business notes stay private.

🏥 The Path to HIPAA Compliance

For those in the healthcare space, this BAA is the essential legal and technical foundation required to handle Protected Health Information (PHI). While we are currently finishing our final internal audits and staff training to reach full end-to-end HIPAA compliance, this agreement ensures:

• OpenAI acts as our Business Associate, adhering to the strict requirements of the HIPAA Security Rule.
• Enterprise-Grade Infrastructure: We are using dedicated, secure endpoints specifically approved for sensitive data.
• Subcontractor Accountability: OpenAI ensures any subcontractors handling PHI meet the same high standards.

What This Means for Your VoiceDash Account

Whether you are using VoiceDash for clinical documentation, legal intake, or confidential business meetings, your data is now protected by the same standards used by global enterprise organizations.

Today, we are thrilled to drop Update 1.0.12 for our Desktop apps!

⚡ What’s New in 1.0.12:

• Lightning Fast Responses: We’ve optimized our infrastructure. You’ll notice significantly lower latency and faster response times across the board.
• Edit/Delete Transcription History: You can now edit or delete transcriptions directly in your history. Clean up your notes exactly how you want them.
• 3x Larger Custom System Prompts: We’ve bumped the custom system prompt limit from 1,000 to 3,000 words. You can now give VoiceDash incredibly detailed personas and instructions.
• Smarter Diagnostics: We’ve added logs and alerts for both users and the server. If something goes wrong, we’ll both know why, making troubleshooting way faster.
• Bug Fix: That Writing Speed indicator bug is fixed.

Mac Intel Support: We heard you! We’ve resolved the technical issues for Mac Intel updates. Moving forward, Mac Intel will stay perfectly in sync with our Silicon and Windows releases.
