Hello Sumo-lings,

A few weeks ago, one of you asked whether you could start with something you were already working on in Claude and move it directly into Latitude.

At the time, I shared that MCP was already working inside Latitude, but that we were still doing a controlled rollout.

Today I can be more specific:

Latitude MCP is included in AppSumo License Tier 2 and License Tier 3 at no additional cost.

For anyone unfamiliar with MCP, it is a standard that lets supported AI assistants securely use Latitude as a set of tools. Instead of copying ideas and drafts between applications, you can ask your AI assistant to work directly with your Latitude accounts, content, analytics, and publishing calendar.

Why did we choose Tier 2 and Tier 3?

MCP becomes especially useful when you are managing multiple LinkedIn profiles, a company page, or a team. It also creates additional AI usage, infrastructure, security, and support requirements.

We decided that including it in these tiers was a better experience than selling MCP as another add-on. It keeps the lifetime deal sustainable while giving the customers most likely to use agent-driven workflows everything they need.

We have also made several major improvements to the MCP:

- Latitude now provides 14 tools for viewing accounts, searching posts, reviewing analytics, generating ideas, creating and updating drafts, and managing schedules.

- MCP can now add JPEG, PNG, and GIF images to drafts, including alt text.

- Local images are uploaded directly and securely instead of sending large encoded files through your AI conversation. This is faster, more reliable, and uses less of your AI context and credits.

- Images can be added when creating a draft or updating an existing one.

- Dedicated MCP tokens can be created and revoked from Latitude, while access remains limited to the LinkedIn accounts and organizations you are authorized to use.

- MCP actions run through Latitude’s existing draft and scheduling controls. It does not become an engagement bot and never takes over your comments or DMs.

Most importantly, both Tier 2 and Tier 3 receive the same core MCP toolset. We are not reserving image support or other MCP tools for a higher tier. The existing differences between the tiers remain their account, team, and monthly publishing allowances.

We’ve now been on AppSumo for two weeks, and the feedback has already changed how we’re building Latitude.

We covered LinkedIn post import in our last update, so I won’t spend this one walking through it again. It is live in onboarding, and existing users can reopen onboarding from Settings.

The update I want to focus on is that we rebuilt Hook Score.

Hook Score has existed since V1. The goal was to help users understand whether the opening of a post would make someone stop scrolling.

The problem was that the original logic was too generic.

One of our early B2B customers (Scott Rivers) showed us several examples where Latitude gave a lower score to the opening he believed was clearly stronger. When we looked at them, he was right.

We were judging the hook too much against a fixed set of best practices and not enough against the actual post, the author, and what had worked for them before.

A hook should not be judged in isolation.

Latitude now evaluates:

• The full post
• Your previous posts and performance
• Aggregate patterns from users with similar content strategies
• LinkedIn’s published best practice

That means the score is no longer just asking, “Does this look like a good hook?”

It is asking, “Is this the right hook for this post, from this person, for this audience?”

It will continue to adapt as Latitude learns from your writing and results.

This is especially important right now because LinkedIn recently added a “Seems like AI slop” feedback option.

I actually think that is a good thing.

AI and slop are not the same thing. AI can help organize an idea, get past the blank page, and improve how something is communicated.

Slop is what happens when the author’s experience, judgment, and voice disappear.

One of the core beliefs behind Latitude is that most professionals do not struggle on LinkedIn because they have nothing worth saying. They struggle because consistency becomes a bottleneck.

We built Latitude to solve that problem without removing the person from the content.

Use the software. Let it help. But read every post, challenge it, edit it, and make sure it says something you actually believe before it goes live.

We've been officially live on AppSumo for a full week 🙌

In that period of time we've had thousands of views, both on our AppSumo but also our website as well. We had multiple YouTube videos made about Latitude, which has never happened before. We watched them all.

We took into account the feedback. We considered our current customers, and our roadmap and decided that it was import enough to build so we did.

This week we released improvements to our import post functionality. Now within Latitude as you complete your content strategy you can supply LinkedIn export post data to help Latitude learn about you.

Latitude will review the samples, and their content and begin to extrapolate some ideas about who you are and what your content strategy should be.

In the application you will see Latitude suggested modifications to your content strategy as additional data becomes available from the past posts.

We will also allow you to view this data in your analytics. We will mark any imported post data as imported, and then we will leverage the data to query the LinkedIn API and ensure that performance data is matching what is imported, and pulling data where data is unavailable.

We’re approaching the 24-hour mark since Latitude went live on AppSumo, and I wanted to share a quick update.

In our first day:

• 7 new customers joined across different tiers
• 4 accounts have already been activated
• 5 community questions have been answered

More importantly, you’ve already helped shape what we build next.

One request has come through clearly, both in your questions and in Mark Draper’s review: you want to bring your existing LinkedIn post history with you.

We agree.

We’ve already been working on an import for LinkedIn’s native data export. Once released, it will allow Latitude to bring in your historical post performance and use your previous posts as writing samples, giving the platform a much stronger understanding of your voice from the start.

We’re targeting a release later this week. We’re making a few revisions and testing it internally first because we want to get it right before putting it in your hands.

Most importantly, thank you. The early response to Latitude has been incredibly encouraging. We’re genuinely grateful for the opportunity to be here, listen to your feedback, and continue building alongside the AppSumo community.

📦 On the deal: The Tier explanation is everything you need to post consistently is included, the only limitations are multi-user and volume of monthly posts.  However, LinkedIn recommends that you post 2 - 3 times per week.  All tiers will include minimum amount of recommended post volume.
