This Sumo hates several things: But I hate nothing more than STUPID F*CKING WANTREPRENEURS! Definition of “Wantrepreneur” Oh... sorry... did I just describe YOU, Young Sumo-ling? If you’re a wantrepreneur, at least admit it. As the quote says: “The truth will set you free... The good news is... this Fatass Sumo is here to turn you from: So how am I gonna do this? I’ll explain right here, my young & dumb friend! Wantrepreneurs tend to hope & pray that their precious little “business ideas” will take off. They jealously guard their ideas hoping no one will steal them. Some wantrepreneurs can’t even find ONE business idea! (More on that later.) But what’s more sad, is when I see someone come up with some “OMG TOTALLY GREAT IDEA!!” ...then spend the next few months or years working on this shitty business idea. “BUT SSUUMOOO... how will I know if my idea will work, unless I build the whole business??” It’s easy... you make an incredibly stripped down, ghetto, ugly-as-hell, semi-working version of your business idea. If it takes you more than an hour, you’re doing it wrong. It’s called a “Validation Test” and it’s a damn-important part in knowing if a business will work. But screw this business jargon... let’s give a REAL EXAMPLE. In fact, we’ll talk about how AppSumo.com itself was started with less than 2 hours of work: STEP 1) The Chief Sumo thought it’d be cool to make something like a “Groupon for Nerds” concept. Since Chief Sumo is all-powerful and all-knowing, he first tried a quick-n-dirty validation test. This is where most wantrepreneurs would start creating business logos, business cards, filing for LLC corporation status, writing business plans, and all sorts of fake “business” crap that does NOTHING AT ALL. STEP 2) Chief Sumo builds out a super-ghetto, barely-working version of AppSumo for $60. Nothing is automated, everything is done manually, and the site pretty much sucks. This course changed the way I look at what I am doing. I have been kind of in between a Wantrepreneur and an Entrepreneur. I would make the Ghetto app, and then look for the market and usually didn't do a good job of validation. Validating first, and actually learning some good ways to do it has really helped me. I am not quite through the whole set of videos yet when a thought struck me, and I did a quick validation. Within 3 hours I got my first client and my first $100 with along with a retainer agreement. I haven't even gotten so far as to put an ad up yet anywhere let alone a Web site. My case isn't the normal case as I had a small foot in a really big door, but that paid off for me. If I went back in time and told myself all of this information before buying it, I would have bought it anyway! Totally worth every penny, and I've already recovered my costs in this learning experience. Thanks for the kick in the pants!

Meh. Another 'hey we have a video camera' course. Production quality is pretty poor - Neville even has light artifacts all over his face in a bunch of the videos. There're a couple of walkthroughs, but we never see the results from the one that got the most focus. Then there are a bunch of short two-minute videos of ideas people submitted, with Neville giving his opinion and a brief suggestion for how to validate. No walkthrough on those, just 'put up an ad and see if people want to buy'. Unfortunately, 80% of the content could have been consumed as a blog post.

What I can say is - I personally think that this course is mainly for the beginner who need start making money online and certainly not for startup business where it take more complicated task than just validating an idea. It different between 'work from home' and startup business.
If you desperate for fast cash I think this course is for you. But if you looking for long term business plan this course it not for you.

Watched 2/3 of the content so far.
Just found the idea crusher very frustrating. The audio is ruined by a bus driving past one one video, maybe a Harely Davidson on another, boxes being moved around and people talking in the next one.
Can't you soundproof your recording room or were you using a spare office? It's just a bit amateruish and ruined a good product.
